San Francisco has become the first city in the United States to demand health warnings on billboards advertising carbonated soft drinks.
The court application of the manufacturer of soft drinks failed to block the ruling, which would require the following message to be communicated by the poster and public advertisement on the bus shelter: \"WARNING: Drinking drinks that add sugar (s)
Lead to obesity, diabetes and tooth decay.
This is information from San Francisco and the county.
\"These warnings will have to cover at least 20 per cent of the advertising table.
The law, which will come into effect on July 25, could herald a similar decision nationwide as politicians and regulators fight obesity and diabetes.
