Shirish Aradhwad, NMT manager, said: \"In addition to the loss of income, this illegal hoarding also damages public property . \".
Recently, the NMMC infringement department, in accordance with the provisions of Article 1995 of the law on the prevention of property damage, directed its Ward officials to raise FIR against illegal flags to the police.
Now the Transport Agency has decided to take action on similar lines.
\"We have not taken legal action so far, but we will do so now if the threat does not stop.
\"The contractor was asked to remove the existing illegal posters and post warning messages at each shelter about taking action against the offender,\" said an official from the bus shelter department . \".
Officials have been instructed to monitor these shelters on a regular basis and to take appropriate action.
\"HC has issued an instruction for defacing public property.
NMT officials and contractors will measure shelters on a daily basis.
\"If they find any illegal posters and banners, they will complain to the police,\" Aradhwad said . \".
